Actors Who Hate the Movies They Starred in
You might think that if an actor makes a movie, he automatically loves it, but you could not be farther from the truth. Here are some actors who trashed their work and regretted for deciding to do it. First and foremost, there is Alec Guinness who hated his role in Star Wars and called the franchise “fairytale rubbish.” He described his character as unclear and unbearable in a letter to a friend during the making of the original.
Then there is Halle Berry who absolutely hates Catwoman – she actually agreed with critics saying the 2004 action flick was “A purr-fectly ridiculous and boring cat-astrophe” and, “A thriller you wouldn’t inflict on a laboratory rat”. When she was receiving her Razzie for worst actor, Berry said that she wants to thank Warner Bros for casting her in “this piece of s**t.”
Vincent Gallo falls into an empty category of artists who managed to hate the film they produced, wrote, directed and starred in. He even apologized for the disastrous movie and called it a waste of time. “It was never my intention to make a pretentious film, a self-indulgent film, a useless film, an unengaging film,” he said.
Katherine Heigel said she hates Knocked UP because she thinks it is a little sexist, among many other flaws. “It exaggerated the characters, and I had a hard time with it, on some days. I’m playing such a bitch; why is she being such a killjoy? Why is this how you’re portraying women? Ninety-eight per cent of the time it was an amazing experience, but it was hard for me to love the movie.”
